We have a beach house in DE and I have no idea what you are talking about.
Same here. Maybe OP is looking at places further out, not beach towns? Downtown Rehoboth, Bethany, and Lewes are pretty safe.
I don't get your post. Are you in denial? The first sentence of the post, "Doing some research on Delaware and Lewes, Bethany Beach, Rehoboth beaches for a possible move/extended year rental" then a few posts down links showing the horrible crime in the area. Why would you post, "Maybe OP is looking at places further out, not beach towns" when both the title and the first sentence of the post confirms where they're looking? It's totally asinine.
Have you been there? I’m a pp and tried to explain. Saying there is a lot of crime in the center of town and close to boardwalk homes is like saying you live in 20816 and there is a lot of crime in Montgomery County. Get it? Sure, there is crime in certain areas, but not in the key downtown areas. The crime is out on the highway (at times) and beyond. There are only 1500 households in the City of Rehoboth Beach, and similar smaller numbers in Bethany and Lewes. You are thinking of the County equivalent.
