Not going to compare to DC as that is urban and apples to oranges.

Same here. Maybe OP is looking at places further out, not beach towns? Downtown Rehoboth, Bethany, and Lewes are pretty safe.
I don't get your post. Are you in denial? The first sentence of the post, "Doing some research on Delaware and Lewes, Bethany Beach, Rehoboth beaches for a possible move/extended year rental" then a few posts down links showing the horrible crime in the area. Why would you post, "Maybe OP is looking at places further out, not beach towns" when both the title and the first sentence of the post confirms where they're looking? It's totally asinine.

Less educated doesn’t mean more crime.
I love Rehoboth and never feel concerned walking around at night like I do here.
Umm yes actually there is a lot of peer reviewed research supporting this link. Your anecdote about your feelings is not data. And if you are comparing Rehoboth to a neighborhood in DC, any neighborhood, you are not making an apples to apples comparison. The population density is much lower in Sussex.

Your research specific to Rehoboth and Lewes.
We have a Condo there and go frequently, also have no idea what you’re talking about. The crime there is really low compared to the DC area.

That's what I'm thinking too.

Listen, the zip codes at the beach cover very wide areas of divergent housing stock and SES. If you zoom in on the very pricy property within a few blocks of the beach, you will see the only crime is occasional public drunkenness or maybe a bar fight. But cross over Route 1, or hang out near some of the Wawas, mobile home parks, etc, and it is a different story. Lots of what is now sold as “Bethany,” “Lewes,” and “Rehoboth Beach” are former corn fields. If you are in the legal limits of the actual towns, the crime is much, much lower than here and the police presence is much more obvious.

So where is your source saying crime is not an issue in that area?

There were a grand total of 9 homicides in all of Sussex County in 2022. Delaware only has three counties.
Plenty more data there, if you'd like to actually study it rather than troll.
WTF?! You are a total idiot lol 9 homicides is a TON for such a teeny tiny population of Sussex County!
How stupid are you?
