You just get a $1,000 to use until the kid is age 18. We used most of it for an expander so it didn’t help us for braces. Did a payment using my FSA card and it’s manageable
Oh good, I feel better. Knowing braces can cost upwards of $6,000 or more, I was hoping MCPS wasn't providing teachers' kids with the full coverage. $1,000 is reasonable, so I take my earlier comment back.
I don't think I've ever posted this but I just can't with your posts...you are awful. Please get a clue about dental insurance in real life.
I do have a clue! Most dental insurance does NOT cover braces at all!
No, you don't. A $1k allowance for braces for kids.os not remotely abnormal. https://www.forbes.com/health/dental/does-dental-insurance-cover-braces/
Most dental coverage does not cover orthodontia. In order to have orthodontia, you need to add a rider to your insurance. Most employers do not provide this insurance. MCPS teachers have it so good.
Plenty of dental plans offer some reimbursement for braces for kids. I'm sorry yours doesn't..What would be unusual is covering braces for adults, but that is not what this plan does. This is not an unusual benefit.
