Yes, and also look at all the new young talent in the USWNT, specifially this selection, the following players did not go to college or left early to go pro, I might miss one:

Horan (not young but first notable player to forgo college to go pro)
Shaw
Rodman
Smith
Moultrie
Albert
Fishel
Swanson
Thompson

ECNL again is the elite option for college, but a failing model for international soccer success and long term skill development because coaches are too powerful and play for results. You’re trying to build a castle on quicksand.  Fix the youth soccer landscape first otherwise we’ll keep producing the same limited style of player.  IMHO Tobin Heath is the only player (now retired) on the WNT that ever had the full technical skillset that the next generation is going to need to get the program back on track.[/quote]
