There aren't enough girls good enough to skip college to make a league focusing solely on pro-pathways viable.

I don't believe this to be true. There are very talented girls but the ID processes are political and not based on talent. That also goes for who is selected or the USWNT too.

Secondly, most pro soccer players on the women's side are making around $50k on average and that was after fighting for better pay. Who is putting their bodies through all that for a starting salary of $35k? You may as well use soccer to go the college route and have a degree and marketable skills. Your salary would likely be increased much faster working a regular career. Most will not have a Morgan or Rodman salary.

A national league requires thousands of players. There are not thousands of roster spots in NWSL let alone thousands of opening per year. Academy systems work because you concentrate talent in the academies so you don't need a whole national league. Academies cost money and there is no organization on the women's side with money

But NWSL just signed a huge new media deal and sold 2 new franchise locations at $60 mill a pop.

True story the days of oh my the median salary is this tiny amount thus I can’t fathom letting my daughter chase her dream. That’s silly there is room for both, this is a yes and situation not either/or one .
