Developing from within is good. We want that. Oh, unless the team becomes less competitive because all the other clubs are recruiting new players every year. Then we should start cutting and recruiting, too. Can't beat them so join them. No, we develop! We'll turn away the better playres who show up at ID sessions because we are loyal and develop our own players.[/quote]

Duh. If you are developing from within the IDENTICAL/SAME players would not always be on the top team.  Kids don't ALL develop in that manner.  A club (I've been at one) that truly is developmental--has a lot of movement over the years and a lot of playing up/down, bio-banding, etc.

A club that has 100 kids in an age group and the same 10 are on a team from U8-U18 is not developmental.  Kids CHANGE so much in that time.  [/quote]

ECNL/MLSnext/GA should be cutting home grown players as other players leave clubs that top out at EDP. That's the whole point of having clubs in leagues that play at different levels. If a club is unwilling to take a look at a kid who comes from CYA or Gunston or Herndon then they aren't maximizing the talent on their team [/quote][/quote]
