I don’t think a civilized state deals with extreme evil and/or mental health issues by killing the perpetrator. Life in prison, without parole, I believe is the correct answer. It’s because we are human, our justice system is made up of human beings and we can never be 100% sure that the person is guilty. To take a prisoner’s life means that there is no way to deal with evidence that pops up later. There are far too many cases where a person has been wrongly put to death. And one case, in my mind, is enough to say that in a civilized country, we don’t do that. [/quote]
