There is not a "need" for a casino now. Portsmouth VA has one, because they actually need the money. National Harbor has one because DC actually needs the money.

NoVa needs to diversify. It can't remain beholden to the military and federal government. Again, I will point to what BRAC did to Arlington. HQ2 bailed them out to some extent but they are now beholden to the whims of Bezos.[/quote]

No one in Reston wants a casino dragging their property values down and attracting gamblers and crime to the area. Which is what casinos do. That's why casinos are in. Baltimore and National Harbor.
