I had a full term stillbirth years ago that was unexplained and was also unhappy with the "next time" meeting I had with GW MFMs. I went to Dr. Pinckert at GGW for a second opinion and really loved the way he talked to me about it. He and his wife also experienced stillbirth and I just felt much more understood and that he was taking the time to go through it with me and think about what might have happened. I believe that I could have seen him as my MFM and still used GW as my OBs. I moved for my first post-loss pregnancy so didn't use him and my second was the peak of COVID, so I ended up with Dr. Gallagher at GW. Since I'd had one live birth subsequent to my loss, I was much less anxious with that one though. I wish I had been able to use Dr. Pinckert for my first pregnancy after loss though.
I saw Dr. Pinckert through my pregnancy after stillbirth and I agree, he's a kind, warm, doctor. He worked well with Capital Women's Care. His genetics nurse was lovely, his ultrasound tech was hilarious (in a good way)...my son turns 8 in a few weeks. If I had decided to try again, I would go back to him too.
