Ideas? Both sides of grandparents want to get something big. So far we have woom bike, toddler bed on our lists of things we were planning to buy that might be helpful. Anything else we should be thinking about? We have no outdoor space/backyard so no playset or other large outdoor toys.
What are things they can buy that you wouldn't otherwise be able to afford or otherwise purchase? Any classes, contributions for vacations etc? Think about how you envision the next 12 mos for DC and how they can best contribute to that. Just speaking from my own experience - we had a grandparents request like that - what we ended up doing was going on a weeklong vacation to an extremely nice resort in Mexico together...wasn't paid for totally by the grandparents but their contribution made it a much more high end resort than we'd have paid for if we were going alone with DC...and while there grandparents also spent a lot of time with DC that allowed DH and I to spend a lot more alone time than we would have otherwise. In any event, ^^ might not be your cup of tea, but just an example of how you might think outside the box on this one.
