Op here and so sorry I posted here. I feel badly enough. Maybe I should go off lexapro. I am ashamed.
Let me add my voice to the others who say please don't be ashamed! I am often surprised by the level of acrimony leveled at those who post about their struggles to lose weight. It's bizarre and disturbing to see people choosing to weigh in not with empathy or helpful suggestions but with judgement and sometimes cruelty. I'm so sorry that you lose your mother during the Covid years. I agree that you might try a different medication, but it might be that Lexapro will work better than other medications for your anxiety. As a post-menopausal woman who also gained weight in 2020-2021, I am finding that it's much harder to lose weight than it has been for me in the past. My mantra is "Slow and steady wins the race!" I focus on one pound at a time, and when I reach that goal, I think about the next pound. I know this post isn't particularly helpful, but I just wanted to say that you're not alone. Hang in there, and don't listen to the haters! (Because haters gonna hate...)
