Both.  You must attend classes at the scheduled times but much of the work is asynchronous.

I’d note that you won’t know if you were accepted into the class until about 48 hours before it starts so be prepared to keep your summer open with no guarantee of getting into the class.

Any efforts to get earlier information from MCPS gets a response of “you should hear from the teacher 24-72 hours before the first class.”  We heard from one class the same day it started which felt unnecessarily stressful.[/quote]

Did you even look at the MCPS website?  They have two different semesters and they have several different times.   You either make it work or you take it during the school year.  We scheduled it around camps, sports and other things.  Its virtual and the classes are mostly check ins but its a lot of busy work.[/quote]
