The way OP's contract is now, nanny is only guaranteed 15 hours per week at $30-so $450/week.   Obviously that is not enough to live on, so  Nanny doesn't NEED this money.  Maybe she's a college student or has a wealthy spouse or...who knows what...but she's not going to put up with what she perceives to be unfair treatment (regardless of whether or not that's correct, it's what she perceives) for $450/week.[/quote]

this. and the young woman is also taking advantage of the guaranteed hours! the guarantee of 15 is a *benefit* to her - no  other PT job will guarantee a base number of hours. that she’s trying to turn this into an overtime claim is either incredibly entitled or ignorant. [/quote]

If I were OP and kept her on, I would make sure to get my 15 weekly hours. No more freebie paid hours. I’d find some sort of childcare need to fill that time I’m paying for.[/quote]
