I do the shopping and since I do most of the cooking I like to put things away so I know where they are when I need them. But I text when I'm leaving the store and ask either DH or DD to be ready to help me get the bags inside. Then as we do that, DH or DD usually puts the refrigerated goods into the fridge. I feel for the PP earlier in the thread who said her DH could "damn well" put things away since she does so much. What anger over trivial chores. I admit I do get peeved at dishes piling up (that's another recent thread here....) but wouldn't let it fester into resentment. And we work it out. If I wanted DH or DD to do put all the groceries away, I'd tell them so. Done.
I've told H directly to do more around the house and have given specific examples. He simply refuses to do anything approaching half of the work. He believes a house can be completely filthy and messy, laundry does not need to be done unless we are all out of clean clothes, and bills don't need to be paid (if not automated) until the third "past due notice" comes. Just a lazy slob.
