Exactly... OP is WAY overthinkng this. 
So what, he was a little candid after partaking in a little too much alc -- who hasn't been a bit too honest when their inhibitions were lowered?  It's not like he outright hit on you.
You definitely mislabeled your post, because he certainly wasn't making a pass on you either, lol.

Your husband sounds awesome... we love a man who's confident and secure not only in himself, but in his relationship too.

He spoke words to her in a complimentary manner... He said she was great with his words. 
OP's husband wasn't nearly as offended as you seem to be, and you and OP are making a mountain out of a molehill.
Must be wonderful being friends with you, and constantly having to walk on eggshells for fear of offending you.
