You're right. Montgomery County maintains a Days of Commemoration list. Schools would be wise to check this when scheduling events.

What is wrong with this principal ?? She is pressured to cancel BTSN on one Jewish holiday so she scheduled for another ?? Is she the new face of antisemitism in mcps or what? At this point her bigotry is blatant and no accident [/quote]

Basically all of September is a Jewish holiday. Orthodox Jewish Schools have more than a week of no-school.

If you observe that much you aren't in MCPS.

The Friday night thing is still a pain, but at that level it's time for individual exemptions, because every night of the week is a problem for some people. [/quote]
