It’s not a major holiday. Open Houses is on Columbus/Indigenous Peoples Day which is actually a REAL major holiday and parents still attend. Imagine that! Anyhoo, I’m off that day and will be there with bells on.
How are you defining "major"?
I’m defining it as being far more significant than the “holiday” OP is complaining about. Like someone said, just take the month of September off and be done with it.

Simply a case of not thinking more than anything malicious.
No surprise. It is a Friday. That is always the start of Jewish sabbath. Principal is well aware of holiday and said deal with it.
I thought that DCUM doesn't allow hearsay about specific individuals.

September 29th eve is also Jewish holiday (although less popular?) - Sukkot.
Also - what a horrible idea having it on any Friday night. Our school always does it either on Tues/Wed/Thurs.
You're right. Montgomery County maintains a Days of Commemoration list. Schools would be wise to check this when scheduling events.

What is wrong with this principal ?? She is pressured to cancel BTSN on one Jewish holiday so she scheduled for another ?? Is she the new face of antisemitism in mcps or what? At this point her bigotry is blatant and no accident
