Close Marks

This is frustrating but there is something more frustrating. When a lane of traffic is blocked in town and people stop way before the closure to try to move over. This makes the back up so much longer and often messes up the intersection behind you. USE ALL THE SPACE. Proceed to the closure and then zipper into the remaining lane. Yes some people will be jerks about the zipper but two wrongs don’t make a right.
There's so much of this on I-95 right now near Fredericksburg where they are doing a ton of road work. Recently did the drive to/from OBX and everyone was merging waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too early. I drove in the impending "closure lane" for like 1.5 miles bypassing a ton of traffic and then zipper merged at the end. Easily shaved 30 minutes off our drive relative to sitting in the massive back-up of traffic. The issue is that the construction crews put up the lane closure signs 3-4 miles in advance and drivers start freaking out, getting out of the closure lane way too early. Just do the zipper merge, folks.
