Montgomery County has a shortage of indoor pools, and outdoor public pools.  But lots of neighborhood pools.  And the Montgomery County Swim League is a very active and fun league.

We have a friend in DC whose "summer pool" is the indoor pool at Wilson Aquatic Center (Jacson-Reed HS).

The upshot is that there is a big shortage of swim opportunities in DC, unfortunately.  So just look to the suburbs, rather than trying to find one of the few opportunities in DC.[/quote]

Hmm, what was happening in the 50s and 60s when these private community pools were all founded? It's really a mystery why suburban neighborhoods would heavily invest in private pools as opposed to funding public pools during that time frame. I guess we'll never know [/quote]
