And taking algebra 1 in 8th grade puts you in Calculus in 12th grade. And many parents push for their kids to do Alegbra 1 in 7th grade, doing calculus in 11th. It's not necessary. It works for some kids, but a lot of them that do this accelerated track fail. [/quote]
