There's no inherent reason to follow the law otherwise? I don't believe the fact that Maryland drivers ignore D.C.'s laws and shrug off the consequences of it gives me, a D.C. resident, license to do the same in Maryland. You're welcome to decide otherwise, I guess, but if we all take this narrowly consequentialist view of laws and the common good, it's a pretty bleak outlook for the notion of society.[/quote]
