More often, I’ve seen “effective demotion” where they are paid the same rate but get moved to something far below their grade. I did hear on exactly one actual walking out. I never quite knew what happened but it had to do with mismanagement of contract funds. It was a couple. One partner was let go from the agency but got a federal job elsewhere and one is no longer eligible for federal employment. [/quote]
