By the time we fully fund retirement and 529's each month (for 2 kids) there does not feel like enough left over for us to cover even a modest second property. We don't even have enough money to make the renovations we'd like to make on the primary property. We have no daycare or private school bills but do spend about $200/month per kid on extra curriculars and another $2k or so per kid each summer on camps. We don't buy luxury brand items or eat out a lot or drive fancy cars either. Regular life is just really really expensive. [/quote]
