agree the abusive narcissistic mother character was not original but it made a lot of sense and gave much more perspective and JLC was insanely good. I also did not enjoy it but feel like knowing it was important and def enjoyed the others especially the ritchie one. [/quote]
I know that Jamie Lee Curtis is a great actress (just winning an Oscar and all), but this is the absolute best I have ever seen her. She was amazing and the writing was spectacular as well. You're right that we see plenty of insane mother types in TV and movies, but these folks must have done some serious research into dysfunctional families to be able to demonstrate the mother's steady decline over the evening while her children are unable to stop it and repeat the same behavior over and over again hoping for a different result. It was simply brilliant.[/quote]
