Oval shaped is good. Irregularly shaped is more indicative of cancer. Good luck. I hope everything is benign. But even if it is not, outcomes are very favorable. I went through treatment and am doing great. [/quote]

They didn’t say whether it had irregular edges, which is what worries me. My doctor warned me that first-time mammograms have higher callbacks because there’s no baseline but I guess I was prepared more for “they need some better images” and not “there’s a mass”. I have had lumps biopsied that had all the worst qualifiers - irregular, spiculated, hypoechoic, etc. Not malignant after biopsy though. If you had a gyn exam a couple weeks ago this is an even bigger sign to me it may be a small cyst that came up when your hormone cycle shifted. For all you know it’s happened a hundred times, but since this is your first mammogram it’s the first time you’ve known. I would be reassured it wasn’t palpated by your gyn . [/quote]
