I’m not the OP but in the same boat and am worried. I just turned 40 and had my first mammo yesterday and got a call this am that the radiologist saw a mass!! I am going back in a week. I don’t have a family history. Has anyone specifically been told they had a mass and it turned out to be something benign? I’m really scared :(
Yes - it was a fibrisdenoma.
Same! I’ve had two.
Thanks, this is helpful. I just can’t get over the “radiologist found a mass” - it’s hard for me not to think it will be bad.
It is hard and I’ve been down that path, but keep in mind, breasts are lumpy things anyway and hormones greatly affect the topography of that area. Lumps can come and go and many, MANY are harmless. I have had biopsies and my breasts are fibrocystic so lumps aren’t uncommon for me, so I get the worry, but truly the vast majority are NOT breast cancer.
