Not "ready to dump them off", just ready to let them spread their wings and fly!  Yes we miss them, but we want them to soar and do what they want, not feeling guilty they are not "in our house or nearby".  I would never want to be the reason my kid doesn't take a new adventure or move away for a great job.

I could turn it around and say "why have kids if you are not planning to let them fly when it's time"? [/quote]
