Not "ready to dump them off", just ready to let them spread their wings and fly! Yes we miss them, but we want them to soar and do what they want, not feeling guilty they are not "in our house or nearby". I would never want to be the reason my kid doesn't take a new adventure or move away for a great job.

I could turn it around and say "why have kids if you are not planning to let them fly when it's time"?

By the time cOvid came around they all worked remotely from their own homes.
They do come home for occasional
Holidays but just for a day or two.

I hope I am not on the board if my kids are gone that long, but I mainly look at education stuff.

There are tons of forums on here unrelated to parenting.

Who wouldn't be wishful for their kids to leave

I have two girls, and we are very close. So yeah I’m going to miss them terribly. But I’m thankful for texting and FaceTime.

We did—by telling ours they had 60 days to find somewhere else to live.

Yikes!

Trust me, It was not out of the blue. There were many 2nd, 3rd and 4th chances before that. There was no other option left.

Based on what you’ve written, I’d say you should be grateful that you have no idea what it’s like to try to raise an extremely difficult child.
