It is amazing to me how everything turns to a discussion of weight with some people. And by "amazing" I mean "depressing."
+1 My DH & I really enjoy this show. Although I can't totally relate to all of it, there are definitely those moments where I can see glimpses of my dumb-ass 20-something self in some of the characters. I like the writing. Like the moment when Hannah is talking to Adam about why he's never told her she's an alcoholic, and he says something like, "You never asked me anything except if I liked it this way or that way." She wants this guy to be her boyfriend, but she doesn't know anything about him. She's so totally self-absorbed. It's awesome. And DH & I think Lena Dunham is cute. So whatever.
+1 My DH and I love this show too, and I loved that scene referenced above. The dialogue is utterly brilliant. Re weight: This show seems to be somewhat of a Rorschach test. So what if she has some belly fat? I LOVE that she is wiling to show her body and isn't a waif. And I think she is cute. As much as there is an obesity crisis in this country, actresses today are way skinnier than they used to be. Most of the 20-something actresses today lack curves. And if they have breasts, they are usually fake. And I say this as a "skinny/fit" woman.
