As an initial supporter of Clemyjontri Park, I think it would be wrong to charge out of county people for using it. I would be OK with a parking fee for all people using the lot. Something nominal - $2 or such - if there are costs to be defrayed for the park. I don't want to be charged when I go to Glen Echo, or Cabin John Regional Park, or anywhere else around here.
Burke Lake charges out of county residents what's wrong with that? Everyone already pays to use the carousel
Those parks do not have the maintenance costs that Clemyjontri has so there would no be no need to charge a fee. Some other parks (aka Burke lake or the Zoo) charge money for usage whether is from parking or entry. If you look at the awesome setup of Clemyjontri there are soo many pieces of equipment, the entire grounds is covered in safety rubber and the unique nature of it is the reason for high maintenance. No other park or playground in the area yet alone maybe the country is like this. I would even say this would almost be considered a pay per use amusement park if it wasn't for the graciousness of the lady who donated the land.
