Booz and Baird seem to be pushing changing Board elections to make the Board less accountable to the voters because voters would not even in theory be able to “vote all the bums out” with staggered terms.  Not that alexandria votes have ever really voted change candidates onto the Board….[/quote]

If they are in charge of this...it's being handled really poorly. According to the Alexandria charter any changes to the SB elections need to be brought before the General Assembly. They've have not given a timeline or any information on how this would be done. Not to mention any proof that have fewer school board members would result in better/more representation for voters. The survey that is currently up doesn't give the opportunity to ask any questions. The biggest should be at-large elections are rooted in structural racism and white supremacy. Why is the board wanting to embrace that system?
