Will you vote for those without any children at all?

District B: Ignacio's kids graduated from ACPS. Booz and Baird both have kids in ACPS.
District C: Alderton's kids go to Catholic school and never went to ACPS. Her DH is an ACPS teacher and she used to be one too. Several family members. Elnoubi has kids in ACPS. Not sure about Harris' kids. They are older/graduated.
Jacinta Greene, Vice Chair of the school board has no kids.

What have these four done or accomplished? Very curious.
Baird was part of the safety group within ACPS that took 8 months to make recommendations.
Booz and Baird seem to be pushing changing Board elections to make the Board less accountable to the voters because voters would not even in theory be able to “vote all the bums out” with staggered terms. Not that alexandria votes have ever really voted change candidates onto the Board….

She's not off limits just because she has kids in ACPS. I'm sorry that you don't like it people have more complex views but I know it's not something that is generally accepted in Alexandria.
This is how problematic the ACPS school board is. You may be correct about Rief and I still think Rief is the best of the three board members of District A (ie Greene and Bailey are more problematic).

+1
The entire Alexandria school board either has no kids or kids in private? Wow. That SB should be dissolved, and newly elected.
How did these people get in, who votes for them? Something really wrong with that set up.
Michelle Rief has 3 kids in ACPS.
She is extremely radical. One of her endorsements is from a New York group that made her sound even more radical than Hutchings. Much of the things we are seeing is because of the policies that she deeply believes in.
She could have been a strong voice for parents during the school closures but she wasn't. Had no problem with Hutchings pulling his kid out of ACPS, yet calling the parents who were forming Pods and keeping their kids in ACPS racists etc.
