Email the CEO or Gen Counsel. If you give name of co. I will look it up. Tweeting is also effective. I am a lawyer and have my assistants deal with this stuff all the time. Also contact your credit card co.
This is a hybrid situation where our family member’s hospitalization is preventing us from going. The childcare is secondary. Hotel is keswick hall. I went through LinkedIn in for the managing director who passed it down to the lower level. Not much other org chart I could find.
Oh, it’s Keswick? I posted earlier with no sympathy, but, I bet you’re annoyed partially because the people you dealt with probably didn’t have great customer service skills. I stayed there recently and the staff was NOT five star. They were more like people you’d find working in a nineties grunge record store. It woulda been fine for a courtyard Marriott but not a five star.
The hotel isn’t five star. Why would you think the staff would be?
What is your standard for what constitutes a five star resort? it's a Forbes Five Star, for example. And the prices sure as hell are high - my midweek room during the low season was about 800 dollars a night. For that amount of money, you should not get too cool for school, unhelpful service. The resort was practically empty (hardly anyone at pool or in the common areas) and we asked to change rooms because they'd ignored one of our requests wrt the room. There were still rooms in our category available for that night on the website. It was only four pm. They didn't even apologize - they were just like, oh sorry, that is the only available room. Um, well then what are you going to do if someone books a room for tonight and shows up? There was never anyone out by the bell boy stand, inside or out. They just weren't very nice. They acted like they were doing YOU a favor by letting you stay there and like you were kind of a PITA. It was weird for such an expensive hotel. But, I do get them saying it's non refundable, sorry. However, some hotels with "nonrefundable" rooms will let you move the date rather than give a refund. But you are not entitled to that. Hope your family members are ok, OP. If you don't need to be there for them, I vote you go and take the kids, if the room count allows for that.
