This is a hybrid situation where our family member’s hospitalization is preventing us from going. The childcare is secondary. Hotel is keswick hall. I went through LinkedIn in for the managing director who passed it down to the lower level. Not much other org chart I could find.
They are a 4-star hotel. A 5-star hotel would be much more accommodating.

How is it preventing you from going? This is a child care issue. Bring the kids.

If you were hospitalized and couldn’t attend, you would definitely get some support here. But that’s not what happened. You have other options. There’s nothing stopping you from keeping this reservation.
Well they are my in laws so we are invested in their health. So while we aren’t their primary caretaker it doesn’t sit well not to provide some support either. So while we technically could take the kids we wanted to stay here in case they still need help to transition back home.

Oh, it’s Keswick? I posted earlier with no sympathy, but, I bet you’re annoyed partially because the people you dealt with probably didn’t have great customer service skills. I stayed there recently and the staff was NOT five star. They were more like people you’d find working in a nineties grunge record store. It woulda been fine for a courtyard Marriott but not a five star.
The hotel isn’t five star. Why would you think the staff would be?

What good is contacting your credit card company? They failed to buy travel insurance. The policy is clear as crystal. Just because you claim to be a lawyer doesn’t make you one or right!
America is full of naive people like you. If you don't ask ...you don't get.
America is full of entitled people like you who think the policy doesn’t apply to them.

To say what? How about this Tweet
Hey, @keswick_hall followed the policy I agreed to. My sitter canceled, and I shouldn’t have to pay. #justicefortheentitled
