Actually, I think it’s you who are not familiar with admissions patterns in the last three years.  Students with B averages and high test scores from top DC privates are definitely not getting in these schools this year - I know parents who are stressed because their smart, B students have been deferred or rejected from many schools less competitive than the ones discussed on this thread.  Hopefully things will look different in 6 weeks, but even then the kids described on this thread are not getting in to Hamilton or Bates without some other hook.[/quote]

Time will tell how this year works out but last year the B students at our Big3 private were admitted to Hamilton, Bates, etc.  This year Tulane has taken B students in early rounds. I'm not sure about the rest. [/quote]
