This is wild to me. About a decade ago I was living in Richmond. A lady in a minivan decided to gun it and make a left turn in front of my car on a rainy day. I slammed by brakes, but still t-boned her. Thankfully I had slowed a lot so damage wasn’t as major as it could be, but her car was dented in and my bumper was all messed up. I insisted on calling cops to report the accident and she screamed at me like a maniac because she had kids (in the car with her) and I was a 20-something with a nicer car than her so I should just let her go. Absolute entitlement (and I say this as a mom who drives a minivan now).

The police officer came and seemed annoyed at me for making him stand in the rain to write a report. Said police don’t get involved for under 1k in damages, but I said it was a fast enough crash I was sure it would be more than than (dear reader, it ended up being 4K+ in damage plus lost wages for me, I’m really glad I got a citation against her). Another fun fact, I looked her up in the local court system and she had a string of speeding/accident tickets a mile long. Yet the entire time I was treated like I was the bad guy causing everyone a headache on a rainy day (even though I’ve never even had a ticket in my life).

I share this story because it absolutely shocks me that police would get involved over a scratch in an airport parking lot in which insurance info. was left.[/quote]
