Third parties are at GdS (and every private and public school in the city) for away game viewing, PPA soccer, vball, events, all kinds of stuff. Given the huge lacks of courts, fields and indoor pools in the area, this is needed for community and athletic development. Thank you GdS. Who is ranting on about after school drivers and evening things - what does anc want? No one to drive by a house or park on wisconsin or river or whatever “just because.” From 6am to midnight? Sounds like they have a different definition of community indeed.
They want to not have their driveways blocked, to not have cars going way above the speed limit as they whiz down 42nd street and let’s not forget they want GDS to keep its words for all pick ups and drop offs to be on campus. GDS families- you caused this
Cars can’t go down your urban street now or you make a bunch of assumptions and attack a school? Ok….
No one is making assumptions. I live next to GDS and this has all been happening since the LS and MS moved. I don’t care about ppl driving down my street. I care when I can’t get out of my driveway multiple times a week because someone has parked in front of it “just to let their kid out”. Guess what, my kid is now late to school and I’m late to work.
I too live there. Never saw this though. Not a lot of driveways in our neighborhood. Are you talking about the alleys? Anyhow, if someone’s parked in front of your driveway in the morning, snap a pic and the plates so the school can tell them, or tell them yourself. Could be a grandparent or parent or sitter. Dropping off line always looked super easy; I assume pick up lines take way longer.
