I think this is what happened. I know multiple families who did report this. They were blocked from going to work/school. They're not work-from-home families and are really reasonable people.

No one is making assumptions. I live next to GDS and this has all been happening since the LS and MS moved. I don’t care about ppl driving down my street. I care when I can’t get out of my driveway multiple times a week because someone has parked in front of it “just to let their kid out”. Guess what, my kid is now late to school and I’m late to work.

I too live there. Never saw this though. Not a lot of driveways in our neighborhood. Are you talking about the alleys?

Anyhow, if someone’s parked in front of your driveway in the morning, snap a pic and the plates so the school can tell them, or tell them yourself.
Could be a grandparent or parent or sitter.
Dropping off line always looked super easy; I assume pick up lines take way longer.

ANC is one of many volunteer groups private schools interact with in DC. I don’t recall it being the one to grant a cap waiver or not.

In our experience at two other schools they’re anti-private school and crunchy granola. So unless things are totally corrupt there or with DC govt I’d think putting actual facts, contract terms, and data forth would level set things quickly.

With sidwell they’d always threaten a retrade and want to redo documents. Which is no way to run things.

I feel like the ANC should put their efforts towards the recent shootings, kids (not from GDS) stealing from CVS and running into the middle of the street in front of cars after school, and throwing things as middle schoolers walking home from school. Gds parents are mostly driving on major roads - there are fewer ins and outs to the campus than used to go to the rat infested Safeway and car dealerships, and I’m not sure what the neighbors would like in the space - another vape shop or bank? Look 4 blocks north to friendship heights - tons of vacant space that nobody wants to build on.

That's disappointing and will change the feel for the students who will be in entry years and were hoping for new friends and classmates.
