Dogs have a much shorter lifespan than humans, which means that humans have to be that much more careful with toxins in their environment, since they have more time to develop autoimmune or oncological consequences. Pet products are not tested to the standards that exist for human products. Please don't use dog beds for children, that's just common sense. OP, you can ask your SIL what these items are, and if they were intended for dogs. See what she says, and decide accordingly. You might have to explain the above, and she might not understand or care, but at least you'll have made your expectations clear. [/quote]
