OP, if you have flex travel plans I’d either build in an extra day to your trip (or the route back if possible) or table city sightseeing to a separate trip. I think it’s too much of a gamble. A few years ago we were in London and needed to head to Stansted to catch our flight to Germany. We got train tickets (45 min ride) that left 4 hours in advance (we had backpack luggage with us and no need to go through customs). The trains had a switching problem and we were stuck with thousands of others trying to get transportation.
We eventually got a bus after waiting for an hour and still missed our flight. We had to get a hotel room at the airport and rebook out of pocket of course for the following day. So, in non Covid, non crazy 2022 travel, and non just popping into the city conditions, at a “regular” airport for check ins, we still didn’t make it even when allowing FOUR hours of travel/airport time. Heed my warning![/quote]
