It’ll be (not) awesome when the purple line brings all of this crime right to downtown Bethesda.
Love how you take the mythical racist story of the Georgetown metro and update it for today. The idea that Bethesda will suddenly become more accessible to crime because of an electric trolley makes me smile.
All you have to do is look at a crime map of DC. Nearly all of the crime in Ward 3 is concentrated at near the Friendship Heights and Tenleytown metro stations. I guess it’s just a coincidence. I also supposed that this group of DC 13 year olds arrested for attempted carjacking in Rockville took an Uber there. https://bethesdamagazine.com/2022/10/04/three-d-c-teens-charged-with-attempted-armed-carjacking-in-rockville/
The point is they didn’t take the purple line there. People argue over the purple line because it’s duplicating well established bus lines, so I guess if you think criminals really hate rush hour traffic on the bus or really like electric trams you might begin to have the faintest glimmer of a point.
So you’re arguing that the crimes near Friendship Heights and Tenley metro stations is from people who took the bus there? How dumb.
