There have been several threads about this just this year already. It's not true. Kids can place into higher math classes at many schools across the county, but it's at the discretion of their math coordinator, and some of them, INCLUDING at wealthy schools, are not in favor of acceleration, and do their best to block the kids from "qualifying".
