Wow.  That is a hefty commitment.  Do you think the private instructions is relevant to DS's quick success?  Meaning 3 days + 1 private versus 4 days + 0 private.[/quote]

I think the most important ingredient is the determination/motivation to improve and the effort that goes with it. Private lesson gave an opportunity to work on specific skills that my kid was lacking (due to starting to play late and redo bad form due to instruction at another place) [/quote]
