This show is the worst. Glamorized sleeping around and spending 394873829293 dollars on shoes. Everyone moved to NYC to live like that and then when they got there realized how inauthentic it was. Now all those women are in their 40s and 50s childless and unhappy but boozing it up at brunch looking for their Mr big. But will never find him bc he's marrying a 20 year old and having babies.
But that's the point! That's what a lot of us did in our 20s/30s and that's what we thought life would be like in NYC. I lived like that (to a certain extent) and am now happily married, with a mortgage and kids. That being said, I look back on my 20s and SATC so fondly. It was a fun carefree time and I know what a privilege that was to have. The original SATC was so good because everyone was relatable enough...you were a little charlotte, carrie, miranda and samantha and you knew people like this too. You saw yourself in all the girls and you saw all your dating exploits in their suitors. I disagree with the poster who said it was un Over time, the characters got too hyperbolic and it was just unrelatable. On Big, he was written to be THE EX. The one we think about often, but realize we overglamorized then and in hindsight know he was all wrong for us. I think the writers ended up liking Chris North too much and kept Big around longer than they should've.
