The school's total enrollment of 3,600 makes it the largest public high school in Montgomery County, as well as Maryland as a whole. MBHS has over 95 teams or clubs, some of which are entirely student-run, including the Blair Radio Station, "Blazer Pride" Marching Band, Debate Team, and Jewish Culture Club and Philosophy Club.
I love how proponents of super size schools always taught the depth of obscure clubs available and skirt around the impact of academics, administration, and discipline at an unmanageably large school.
Do you mean “tout”? If you’re going to diss a school, make sure you’re sounding educated yourself.
Excellent response, you really drilled into the heart of the matter with your commentary.
And your post is a valuable contribution to this thread. Well done! Blair is 50% larger than our neighborhood high school. It’s good to hear that it’s well run and that kids seem to like it and have good experiences. The long lunch hour seems like a good idea, and making that meeting time for clubs was a great idea.
