But weren't James Madison and Elon "regional universities" on USNWR just a few years back?  Now I see they're both on the National Universities list.  I really don't see how they changed that much if regional vs. national is really that big a distinction.[/quote]

Except that it doesn't.  I would be shocked if RISD, which is apparently regional had fewer students from outside the North, than Alabama State has from outside the South.  [/quote]
