So how much to buy back a weapon?   If someone is already in possession of "an illegal weapon" it's going to take a lot of money to get them to turn it over.   What do you think that price will be?

Keep in mind that many of these people see these weapons as the means to defend their family.   You're essentially asking them to put a price on their child's safety and possibly even their life.

I tell you what - the dynamic has flipped - there is NO limit to what I'll pay to make sure my kids are never in the situation those kids were.   If the "law and order" brigade won't comply to a reinstated assault weapons ban they'll have to face much bigger consequences than whatever fear they are currently living in.   I'd vote for making buy-back fair -  price paid plus inflation to 2022.  Value of buyback would decline over time.  [/quote]

Please don’t speak for all gun owners.  I refuse to believe responsible gun owners would not agree that some reform s necessary.  No automatic assault rifles.  Background checks, training.  We can agree on this.[/quote]
