I understand the impulse, but this is just another form of vigilatyism. I think perhaps a federal investigation is in order if the locals don't charge him, but give the prosecutor time to work the case. If Zimmerman is to be arrested the last thing you want is a rushed investigation that makes a mistake that makes it hard to convict. [/quote]

What does an arrest have to do with the speed of the investigation? Wasn't Huguely jailed while police investigated and prosecution built their case? Aren't most people who are suspected of murder?

We have this little thing called habeas corpus in our country. Maybe you're unfamiliar with it?

You could argue police have sufficient cause to arrest him, I suppose, but he still has legal rights to make bail, etc.

In my experience, fanning the flames of public sentiment in sensitive cases doesn't assist the justice process. [/quote]
