Exactly how cheap is Aldi's? Any good examples of price comparisons with, say, Whole Foods?
Everything is cheaper than Whole Foods. If you're looking to save money on groceries your first step is to get out of Whole Foods. In my limited experience, Aldi's has some things that are 15-20% cheaper than Giant or Safeway if there's no sale, and in line with those stores if there is a sale. If you find the quality to be equivalent or better, there is a savings there. I did not find the produce quality to be even decent, and I didn't have a guide to show me what cheeses or dairy everyone is talking about, or whatever the amazing bread is. I would go again with an Aldi aficionado because I love a deal, but when I have tried to go on my own I've mostly been frustrated.
