If a legacy doesn't meet the admissions requirements, then you have a case that's easy to prove. It's harder to prove admissions bias based on race since most underrepresented minorities that get in meet the requirements. They might not have the highest test scores and GPAs but they still meet the requirements. Then, you add in other criteria and they're in.[/quote] grr. quote fix. No, it's a lot harder to fight because it's not based on race, but just so happens to benefit wealthy white families the most. On what basiss would you fight legacy admissions? Private institutions can do whatever it wants except for actual racial discrimination, which is what the suit is trying to allege. [/quote]
